In the morning, drive to Khimsar visiting Karni Mata Temple at Deshnoke enroute. 30 km from Bikaner, this 600-year old temple is also known as the Rat Temple because thousands of rats live here permanently and are fed here as pets. It is believed that these rats are actually the devotees of Goddess Karni and spotting one white rat of the temple, is considered to be especially auspicious. On the way, you will also visit the famous cattle fair of Nagaur, which is the second largest in Rajasthan and held annually in Jan or Feb.
In the afternoon, you will reach Khimsar and visit the Khimsar Fort. Built originally as a stronghold against the enemy with fort walls, minarets and stables; it was restructured in the 18th century to make it suitable to serve as the residence for the royal family. In the morning, drive to Jodhpur, visiting Ossian and Mandore enroute. 58 km from Jodhpur, Ossian is rightly considered to be an oasis in the desert and is famous for its 11th century Jain temples with intricate carvings that are dedicated to Lord Mahavira. Other highlights of Ossian are Sun Temple, Kali temple and Sachiya Mata Temple. 8 km from Jodhpur, Mandore is known for the Royal Cenotaphs of the rulers of Jodhpur situated amidst well-maintained gardens. In the evening, you will leave for Delhi, where you will be given the transfer to the airport so that you can catch your flight to onward destination in time.
